Pressured Speech: An Overtalking Mental Tshirt

Pressure of Speech is a communication pattern frequently associated with manic or hypomanic episodes particularly in Bipolar Disorder! The individual has an intense, uncontrolled urge to talk. This is notably rapid, excessive and often a loud verbal flow of relentless speech, preventing others interrupting the conversation. Their lack of social awareness related of the illness, removes the ability to acknowledge that others want to participate in a conversation. Marked pressured speech is coupled with racing thoughts, a continuation of expressing themselves when no-one is listening, and is there is often a lack of organization of thought processes into speech. This content can become tangential or otherwise disrupted and can be exhausting for all concerned particularly the client! Other symptoms that exist with pressure of speech not already mentioned and associated with thought processes and content, include flight of ideas and distractibility!
